Research Interest
Cutting edge simulation techniques used to simulate membrane bound proteins like channel forming viral proteins (M2 - Influenza, Vpu - HIV-1, 3a - SARS). Special emphasis lies in the specifc characteristics of the lipid enviroment. All kind of techniques from quantum calculation to coarse grained MD are employed to get grip on processes like protein assembly, membrane dynamics, ion and drug permeation through channels and dynamic ligand/receptor interactions.
