Admission
requirements
Applicants must have a bachelor degree in medicine, dentistry or TCM or
a bachelor degree from other departments in medical science, agriculture
or engineering. They are admitted by review of merits and interviews, or
by written and oral examinations. Around of 11 students are enrolled for
the MSc. course each year, while about 4 students are enrolled for the
Ph.D. course each year.
Curriculum
The normal minimum period is 2
years of full-time study for the Master¡¦s program and students must complete
courses of no less than 30 credits, including 6 credits for the thesis. The
program is offered in 2 groups: A and B. Group A is designed for students that
have graduated from a Faculty of Medicine, a Faculty of Dentistry, and/or
Department of Chinese Medicine. Group B is designed for students that have
graduated from medical schools, colleges/institutes of technology or
polytechnics, and/or related departments of colleges/institutes of agriculture.
Candidates are admitted to the program through either selection or examination.
Since the institute was founded, about 10-11 candidates have successfully
enrolled in the institute every year; and over 155 students have successfully
completed their study and obtained their Master¡¦s degree between 1991 and 2010.
The normal minimum period is
2-7 years of full-time study for the Doctoral program and students must complete
courses of no less than 30 credits, including 12 credits for the thesis. Every
year about 4 to 5 candidates are admitted to the program, and 18 students have
successfully completed their study since 2005. These students were graduates
from Departments of Chinese medicine, schools of post baccalaureate Chinese
Medicine, medical colleges, colleges of technology, polytechnics or related
departments of colleges/institutes of agriculture.
