The evaluation center commissioned by the Ministry of Education has completed “The Evaluation Project of Full English Academic Programs in College/Universities for 100 Academic Year”. The International Health Program (IHP) of National Yang-Ming University is rewarded an honor as “Highly Recommended” and got a grant of three million NTD for improving the curriculum of IHP.

This is the first projectthat the Ministry of Education executed on all the full Englishacademic programs in Taiwan. The long-term devotion of faculty members in developing curriculum, managing lectures and studies, and taking care of student career development has earned themselves the recognition. The IHP provides a multidisciplinary and comprehensive course and training focused on global public health issues. The program is jointly operated by faculty members from the graduate institutes of public health, hospital and health care administration, health and welfare policy, environmental health sciences, clinical and community nursing, clinical medicine (including tropical medicine), biomedical informatics, microbiology and immunology, and dentistry, amidst the university renowned for its biomedical research capacity.

IHP aims to assist as many countries as possible, especially countries with diplomatic ties with Taiwan, to foster public health professionals. The training consists not only well-organized classes, but active participation, discussion, and close interaction with fellow students and faculty members. The program also encourages independent research and problem analysis. Students enjoy the opportunity to draw upon the diversity experience from different countries and learn from this unique and interesting community.

Students also enjoy the Mandarin classes which facilitated their interaction with the community, and the capacity to appreciate the culture activities in Taipei. The students enjoy privileged treatment by the school and high priority in terms of administrative resources such as dormitory and scholarships. Furthermore, multiple activities are provided after class to explore the many faces of Taiwan.

Based on these efforts, the International Health Program has been recognized as a "highly recommended" full English program in Taiwan. IHP is the top choice for all students who are interested in public health with a great international perspective.
