Research

Mainly concentrated on human cytogenetics, such as the chromosome aberrations in the mental retardates and in the established human tumor cell lines. We have recently made a joint effort with my colleagues to study the fragile X syndrome genes (FRAX A and FRAX E) by the molecular approach in order to lay the basis for genetic counseling and clinical service in the future. We are also currently studying the cytogenetic effects in lymphocytes from individuals living in buildings constructed with radioactively contaminated rebar in the Taipei area.

本人的研究工作是以人類細胞遺傳學為主。歷年來先後從事智障患者和人類癌細胞株的染色體異常研究。近年來，藉著與有分子遺傳學專長的同仁合作，亦正致力於X染色體脆裂症基因(FRAX A和FRAX E)的分子研究，希望能為未來的遺傳諮詢和臨床應用建立基礎。此外，目前亦正對台北地區幅射屋居民淋巴球的染色體進行研究。
