In addition to excellent clinical techniques, logical thinking and scientific researches are also the goals of the school. Each of the faculty is engaged in researches, and the results are published in the Chinese Dental Journal. The topics currently under investigation include: Oral Implantology, Oral Biomaterial, Oral Histoengineering, TMJ physiology, Oral Microbiology Biology, Periodontal Regeneration, Genetic Deregulation for Oral Pathogenesis (e.g. Oral Cancer), Oral Health Policy, as well as Mechanisms of Toothache. The undergraduate students are welcome to join the laboratories which they are interested in. After graduation, the students have choices to continuous further training in either clinical dentistry or basic sciences.
